However, we have “narrowed” it down to the top 31 shops. In this way no matter where you are in our vast city you can find the best pizza in Houston!

1. BOH Pasta & Pizza
Neighborhood: Downtown
What to order: Definitely not just pizza (check out the Squid Ink Bucatini Frutti DI mARE), but the pizza is worth finding downtown. How many pizza places do you know that have to close because they run out of dough?! This place has barbecue level fame and is every review proves it. Even if you do not frequent downtown they have frozen pizzas to take home!
2. Bollo Woodfired Pizza
Neighborhood: Downtown
What to order: All of their authentic Neopolitan pizzas are baked in an 800° wood-fired oven. If you are unsure start with a classic Margherita! And, not to tell you what to do but they have Nutella gelato…just sayin’.
3. Bombay Pizza Company
Neighborhood: Downtown
What to order: They have the classics but when in Bombay try a specialty – like the Slumdog! It’s loaded with grilled chicken, pepperoni, beef, Spanish chorizo, Canadian bacon, jalapenos, red onions and mozzarella on Bombay Pizza Sauce.
4. Brother’s Pizzeria
Neighborhood: The Woodlands, Cypress, Katy, Heights
What to order: It does not matter which location you order or dine-in at they are all amazing. You cannot go wrong with a classic pepperoni pizza. Confused about if we’re talking about Brother’s or Brother’s Express? Us too. But, no worries they are all related! Just order and enjoy.
5. Buffalo Bayou Brewing Company
Neighborhood: Fourth Ward
What to order: So, yes. It is not a pizzeria but the pizza here has people talking! Look at that hand-tossed crust – it’s cold fermented for 72 hours with the same yeast they use in the beer. It’s no wonder people keep sending us to a brewery for the best pizza in Houston. Oh, and one more thing, you can ‘Dust the Crust’ in Cheeto, Ranch, or Garlic Parmesean. So, whichever you order do that!
6. Cane Rosso
Neighborhood: Heights
What to order: We can’t send you to a pizzeria with a pizza called Truffle Daddy and not recommend it! Get the Truffle Daddy! Truffle marscapone, prosciutto, house-made mozzarella, parmesan…sorry, I need to go pick up a pizza. BRB.
7. Coltivare Pizza & Garden
Neighborhood: Heights
What to order: There is a lot going on at Coltivare – pizza, cake, so much culinary excellence! If you are there for the pizza try something a little different and go for the Manila clams pizza with tarragon pesto and Bianco sauce. If you are outside of Downtown try their sister restaurant, Vinny’s.
8. Dan’s Pizza Co.
Neighborhood: Webster, Clear Lake, Kemah
What to order: There are three southeast Houston locations. The original & Scarsdale locations are primarily carry out and for delivery. However, the Kemah location has a pup-friendly patio. Try the Surf and Turf – it has an olive oil base, then is topped with shrimp, chicken, garlic, avocado, bacon, pineapple & goat cheese. Yum! And, holy cannoli…don’t forget an order of cannolis they look a-mazing too!
9. Dattz
Neighborhood: Cypress
What to order: Dattz is for delivery and carryout only but when in Cypress do it! What to get? One of their specialty pizzas, we recommend either the Natural Disaster or Jalapeno Popper, and a side of Pepperoni rolls. Enjoy!
10. El Canton Firewood Pizzeria
Neighborhood: Katy
What to order: Pizza with a Mexican flare! Check out the Chicken Poblano or Tiki Chipotle they will both give you a taste of what El Canton serves up! They also offer some nice Family Packages that include an appetizer, salad, and (be still mi corazón) homemade Tres Leches!

What to order: All the pizza is amazing giant foldable New York-style thin crust – but I bet this is the only pizza place in Houston that spawned an ancestry mystery that leads through the small Texas town of Orange and ends up as a novel, The Saint, The Sinner(s), and Eddie. Neighborhood: Meyerland
What to order: Gugliani’s has been serving classic Italian food to the Houston area for years. When you head over there for pizza get the Z-Special. It is a classic (like them) loaded with Canadian bacon, pepperoni, sausage, ground beef, onion, bell pepper, mushrooms, black olives and green olives.

Neighborhood: Sugar Land
What to order: Where else can you eat pizza and waffles and they are both out of this world?! You will not go wrong with anything on the menu but we are partial to the Moon Pie – Vietnamese style BBQ pulled pork, mozzarella cheese, sunny side up egg, sriracha and Japanese mayo topped with cilantro.
14. La Famiglia Wood Fired Pizzeria
Neighborhood: Humble/ Atascocita
What to order: La Famiglia serves wood-fired thinner crust style pizzas. Go for a classic Pepperoni and follow it up with a Marshmallow Pizza. You can’t go wrong.
15. Locatelli’s Pizza
Neighborhood: Cypress, Tomball
What to order: Locatelli’s is a personal GHM favorite! We like to start with the Spicy Toasted Raviolis (switch the marinara for ranch because #texas). Then we indulge in a Stufatelli. Finally, we finish it off with the best Lemon Square in Texas. Seriously, it is big enough to share (if you want to) and they are often sold out.

Neighborhood: Midtown; Bellaire; League City
What to order: Luigi’s specializes in New York Style Thin Crust. After you indulge, if you are at the Midtown location, you can lounge in hammocks on their pet-friendly patio!

Neighborhood: Fourth Ward/ River Oaks; Memorial
What to order: This is the place to channel your inner Cajun – try the Spicy Andouille (ann-DOO-ee)! It is sharp, smoky perfection. !

What to order: M3 is extra low key – no website. But, understated does not mean it is to be missed! They have a killer gluten-free crust, lactose-free options, a loyal fanbase, and generous toppings.

What to order: Olivia is a catering pizza co. but they often pop-up around town. What to order: Aside from the classics Piola offers a chia flour cust and gluten-free cauliflower crust. How could we suggest a place and not insist you go for the Houston?! Jalapenos, avocado, and cilantro – I think there is pizza there too!

Neighborhood: Memorial City; Fourth Ward/ Midtown
What to order: Pizaro’s is like three pizzerias in one. They offer classic Napoletana, Detroit, and New Your Style pizzas. But, when in Rome, go for the simple Napoletana style that is cooked hot and fast – no more than 90 seconds!

What to order: Rocco’s speacializes in 12″ New York style hand-tossed pizzas. Go for the All Puttanesca – anchovies, capers, onions, kalamata olives, red pepper flakes, and you get to say, “Puttanesca!”

What to order: Rosie Cannonball is an upscale Montrose area staple. The pizzas are perfectly blistered from their wood-fired oven. Which pizza has them in the running for the best pizza in Houston? Try the Speck & Chili Oil pizza – the only pizza in town using delicious Castelvetrano olives!

What to order: All the pizzas are worth a munch but check out The Cowbell – house-smoked BBQ beef brisket with homemade “MoreCowbell” Sauce, cheddar, mozzarella, and top it with onions and pickled jalapenos! There’s also cake because why not!? Feel like slinging your own? They also sell their doughballs!

What to order: The pizza is legit and the Friendswood community has been enjoying their pizzas for over 20 years. But if you are looking for next-level try the vegan pizza – it is not to be missed.

What to order: Artisan pizza with a gypsy vibe! You won’t go wrong with any of their wood-fired pizzas but we are a sucker for a classic pepperoni – The Gypsy Poet kicks it up a notch by adding some hot honey!

What to order: An awesome little shop with an awesome patio to enjoy your awesome pizza! The menu is not large but well curated and fun. Try the Ricotta, Kale + Chard, and pickled garlic pizza.

What to order: While they have a full menu if you are going for pizza the classic pepperoni is perfection. Start with some garlic rolls – they are soft, topped with parmesean and baked in the brick oven!
