Welcome to Houston

First, visit Space Center Houston and learn about NASA’s history and space exploration. Keep exploring at the Houston Museum of Natural Science, which features exhibits on dinosaurs, butterflies, gemstones, and space. Mix it up and go shopping at the Galleria, one of the largest shopping centers in the United States. Or, catch a game at Minute Maid Park to watch the Astros play baseball. Looking for a more intimate experience? Head to Sugar Land to watch our minor league team, the Space Cowboys – it is family friendly and has a playground and splash pad inside the park.

Nature & Outdoors

Looking to get outdoors? Take a stroll through Hermann Park, which has a zoo, gardens, and walking trails. Stop by the Buffalo Bayou Park, where you can kayak or paddleboard on the bayou. Anther option is to hop on board a pontoon boat with one of the guided tours (the bat one is a personal fave). Want to see alligators? Head down to Brazos Bend State Park.

The Arts

How about discovering the arts? Visit the contemporary art exhibits at the Menil Collection, watch a performance at the Houston Ballet, one of the top ballet companies in the country, or immerse yourself in any of the arts found in the Houston Theater District. Likewise, you could spend the afternoon at the Museum of Fine Arts or any of our museums during their free hours/ days!

Family-Friendly

We are a family-friendly destination but if you are looking for kid-centric options experience the interactive exhibits at the Children’s Museum of Houston. If you are around in February and March, ride the rides, see the cowboys, and sample delicious food from around the world at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, one of the largest rodeos in the world.
