A College Fair & Conference Just for Homeschoolers

HSPA Virtual College Fair & Conference
January 12, 2021 | 8:00 am – 2:00 pm EST

The Homeschooling Parent Association (HSPA) announces its first annual, Virtual Homeschool-Friendly College Fair & Conference, “Get Connected 01122021.” It will be held on January 12, 2021. 8:00 AM-2:00 PM EST.

This college fair is a little different. It is exclusively for homeschoolers and will address their specific needs and questions. As much as the typical college or university application process is straightforward for mainstream education it is regrettably, confusing for homeschoolers searching for the perfect higher education opportunity. Fortunately, colleges and universities are eager to meet homeschool students. Take this unparalleled opportunity to meet with colleges directly and ask questions pertinent to your unique situation.

Connect!

“Get Connected 01122021” will offer a full day of virtual college presentations along with motivational speakers. You can expect, presentations on scholarships, dual-credit courses, financial aid, starting college early, application processes, and advanced placement. More than that, attendees can visit virtual booths with representatives from homeschool-friendly colleges & universities. Likewise, students will be able to download information as well as view pre-recorded and live presentations.

How will the College Fair Work?

Each college will have its own “HUB” for virtual gatherings. At the Hub students can meet alumni, other current homeschoolers, or just hang out. Currently, over 100 colleges (and growing) will have representatives at this virtual fair and conference. This is a perfect fit for any homeschooler with higher education on their mind.

There will also be five sessions covering topics you want the answers to! Students and families are invited to attend as many as you would like. The day will kick off with Emily Freeman from Palm Beach Atlantic University. She is discussing how to simplify the process of college admission to searches. Another session is with Dr. Kerr Ramsay from High Point University. He will focus on what students need to do today to succeed at college tomorrow. A third session will deal with a popular subset of homeschoolers, the student-athlete. Ethos Sports & Education, a college sports recruiting agency, will lead a session specific to the recruiting landscape.

Registration, Attendance, & Scholarships

The first 500 registered students are FREE. Moreover, the first 100 students who complete the â€œGet Connected Challenge” during the event will receive a $100 scholarship to use in their college application process. In fact, over $10,000 in scholarships are going to be awarded to attendees. To boot, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in other games and events and win some fun prizes (like an HP Chromebook! One easy way to get more entries is to wear your conference t-shirt and tag @HomeschoolingParent).

Student registration is now open. A “Get Connected” t-shirt is free for the first 100 registrations!
