Houston Art Bike Festival DETAILS

From the organizer:

Houston Parks Board, Orange Show Center for Visionary Art, and HISD Fine Arts Department are proud to present the Houston Art Bike Festival. This day-long arts and culture celebration brings together community members and youth programs from across the city as we explore our personal creativity, promote health and wellness, and celebrate the artist in everyone!

MacGregor Park, Fonde Park, and Smither Park come alive with music, food, art bikes, art cars, community groups, activities, and a special parade. Students from participating HISD schools proudly pedal and accompany their art bikes along a pre-determined path within MacGregor Park, as families and community members cheer them on from the sidelines. An organized bike route along Brays Bayou Greenway from MacGregor Park to Fonde Park, and ultimately ending up at the whimsical Smither Park, invite and inspire community members, families, and friends to cycle together after the official parade, to a continued celebration and afternoon festival of awards, activities, and art.

We welcome you, your family, friends, co-workers, and neighbors, to design and create an Art Bike of your own. Everyone will have a chance to participate as we celebrate diversity through artistic interpretations of how the outdoors connect us – embracing our health, our environment, our families, our friends, our civic pride, and our creativity.
