Begin 2023 with a sunrise walk on the beach at Galveston Island State Park!
Ring in the new year by taking a beach sunrise walk with a ranger! This is a great way to set an intention of getting outside and getting some exercise. Join people all across the nation as we hike on New Year’s Day and help us ring in 2023 and the beginning of Texas State Parks 100-Year Celebration!
This walk has very little shade, so hats and sunglasses are highly recommended. Plan ahead – you will get sandy. All ages welcome, including your canine companions.
- Bring: Sunscreen, bug spray, water, weather appropriate clothing and beach appropriate shoes.
- Meet: Beachside Day Use at the blue flag
- Cost: Entry fee is $5 for adults and FREE for children 12 & under. Park entry free with a State Parks Pass. Since this program begins before our office opens to the public, please use our self-pay station to check in.
