Día de los Muertos  at the Botanic Gardens DETAILS

From the organizer:

Día de los Muertos is a traditional Latin American holiday that honors and celebrates the lives of family and friends who have gone before us. The common theme throughout the two-day celebration, traditionally held on November 1 and 2, is the belief that the dead return home, visit loved ones, and feast on their favorite foods. Join MECA and the Houston Botanic Garden for Festival en el Jardin as we celebrate our past and honor our future, through music, dance, and visual arts. Learn to create your own altar, make paper marigolds, shop with vendors selling authentic Latin American arts and crafts, and enjoy performances by Ermelinda Cuellar Jazz Trio (2:30pm), the MECA Ballet Folklorico (3:30 pm) and Mariachi Monarcas (4:30 pm).

*Must purchase admission to the Garden*

Please remember that Houston Botanic Garden offers free parking and our events are often in climate controlled environments. If you have specific questions please email us at education@hbg.org
