STEM Nova Day DETAILS

From the organizer:

Thank you for your interest in STEM Nova Awards at HMNS. This year we’ll be back in person with our STEM Nova Day on October 14^th, 2023 from 8 a.m – 12 p.m following the STEM Nova Overnight.

Join us for a day of fun, no registration required! Experience the excitement of scouting right here at the museum! Experts and educators help you to discuss and complete various requirements throughout your day.

STEM Nova Day is included with the purchase of a permanent exhibit hall ticket, which is free for members! Check in at the Scouts@HMNS table when you arrive and pick up your STEM Nova workbook to help guide you through the requirements of your award. Each year we choose a different Cub Scout Nova Award and Scouts BSA Nova Award for Scouts to work towards.

We will be offering the following STEM Nova’s:

• Nova WILD!

Scouts BSA:

• Splash!

To extend your weekend experience, we will be offering Saturday Merit Badge and Adventure classes to fulfill requirement 2 of each Nova award. These classes will also be available for purchase in the online box office starting August 2022. For more information or to be added to our notification list, email scouts@hmns.org.

STEM Nova Day Instructions for Participants

STEM Professional Booths

This year, we will be offering the opportunity for STEM organizations to host a STEM Professional Booth to talk with scouts and their families about science, technology, engineering and math! At each booth, organizations will have a STEM activity or demonstration to share with STEM/Nova participants as well as the general public visiting HMNS on STEM/Nova Day.
