The holidays are fast approaching, so why not usher in the holiday season with us?

You better check your stockings for alligators, because Santa has landed at Brazos Bend State Park!

The holidays are fast approaching, so why not usher in a bit of holiday spirit with us here at your favorite park? We will be hosting events all throughout the day at our Nature Center, so come on by and participate in the festivities!

Schedule of Events

8AM: Bird Hike at 40 Acre Lake: Meet at the parking lot to go out with one of our guides and see what birds there are to be found in the park.

10AM: Creekfield Hike: Meet at the Nature Center to take a guided hike around Creekfield Lake and learn about some of the things that make Brazos Bend so special.

10AM-3PM:  Elf Hike: Santa’s missing some of his helpers and it’s up to us to find them! Meet at the Nature Center before travelling down Pilant Slough Trail in search of some of Santa’s lost elves.

11:30AM: Alligators from Egg to Apex: They are the rulers of the swamps, but they start life at the bottom. Learn about the epic lives of Brazos Bend’s most popular resident.

12:30PM: Spectacular Snakes: Snakes are some of the most fascinating animals that live at Brazos Bend State Park. Discover all you could ever want to know about the animal that everyone loves to hate and how we need them as much as they need us.

1:30PM: Wildlife Presentation: Come by and see a presentation about all the animals our friends at the Wildlife Center of Texas rescue and work with!

1-2PM: Guerilla Gardening 101: Help us as we learn how to make seed balls that will allow us to easily distribute native flowering species throughout the prairies of our park.

1-3PM: Owls Inside and Out: Join us as we learn about what makes owls tick!

1-3PM: Meet the Clauses: Come have a little chat with Santa, Mrs. Claus, and one of their little helpers!

2PM: Creekfield Hike: Meet at the Nature Center to take a guided hike around Creekfield Lake and learn about some of the things that make Brazos Bend so special.

3:30PM: Vulture Program: They may not be the prettiest birds to look at, but they play a vital role in keeping their environment healthy. Come learn about one of the most misunderstood birds to be found in the park and why we need them.

3-5PM: Hayrides: Meet at the Nature Center for hayrides around the park.

4:30PM: Brazos River Pickers: Who doesn’t love a good concert? Join us and our friends, the Brazos River Pickers, as they put on an amazing show with original country and bluegrass music! Come jam with us!
