On Wednesday, September 13th, 2023, the West University Branch Library is hosting the Grand Opening of its George and Barbara Bush Family Place Library. Family Place Libraries are libraries that have a play area filled with toys that encourage learning through play. They also provide a collection of books, DVDs and other resources for parents and caregivers, and feature a series of parent and play workshops with local professionals to answer questions about development, literacy, and much more.
This Family Place Library was funded by the Ladies of Literacy Guild, a part of the Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation.
This celebration will be hosted at the West University Branch Library located at 6108 Auden Street, Houston, Texas 77005 at 2:30 PM in the afternoon. Light refreshments to follow a brief ceremony commemorating this event. Come make us your new favorite library.
