The Pearl offers free Family Days with hands-on art projects, artist demonstrations, performances, and more. Projects are designed for ages 5 and up, and can be enjoyed by both children and adults! The featured art projects are inspired by current exhibitions, seasonal holidays, or other concurrent events.
Family Days are typically held on the second Saturday from 10:00am-2:00pm, but may vary depending on other events happening at the museum. Please check their calendar for specific upcoming dates. Participants are welcome to drop in at any time between the posted Family Day hours. Registration is not usually required.
Please, park in the lot located behind the Barbara Bush Library next to Collins Park.
Winter Family Day
Celebrate the holidays with a free Family Day at the Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts! Starting at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 9, enjoy a wide range of activities such as ornament making, story time, a scavenger hunt, marionette show and more!
At 10:30 AM join our guest reader, Mrs. Claus, for a cozy story time with cookies and hot cocoa. Bring a non-perishable canned or boxed food item for donation and receive a free lullaby book. All food will be donated to the Houston Food Bank.
At 11:30 AM see an enchanting marionette play of T’was the Night Before Christmas, with a sing-along to classic holiday songs like Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.
Wander down to the elves’ workshop and create ornaments and holiday crafts! Don’t forget to capture this special day at our Winter Wonderland photo opp, where you can strike a pose with your family. Share your pictures using the hashtag #PearlFamilyDay.
