From the organizer:

Bring your class out for our Black Cowboy Education day at George Ranch Historical Park! Students will tour the park and discover what life was like for the African American cowboys that worked here at the Ranch in the 19th and 20th centuries. In addition to regular house tours, there will be

  • Special horse and cattle demonstrations focused on the black cowboy legacy
  • a mock branding station
  • Bach house life with first hand accounts of George Ranch cowboy Johnny Hudgins
  • Rail Car Round up of the Texas Longhorns
  • Buffalo Soldier camp
  • Cast iron cooking demos at the Bach house
