All About Dance! at the Miller Outdoor Theater Join long-time Young Audiences artists from Houston's premier arts magnet high school, the Kinder High School for the Performing Arts (HSPVA) as they delight young audiences with their performance at Miller Outdoor Theatre this fall! Explore the world of dance and movement with this company of talented young professionals from HISDâ€™s renowned High School for the Performing and Visual Arts (HSPVA). Students join the HSPVA Concert Dancers in exploring various dance forms â€“ including ballet, modern dance, jazz, and tap â€“ and their distinct characteristics. Students will learn to recognize the complexity of dance, its many forms,
Goldilocks and the Three Bears Tapestry Players presents an adaptation by William Goldsmith of the popular fairy tale, in which Baby Bear and Goldilocks (now friends) have very different recollections of the details of that fateful day. A reenactment of the story ensues, with plenty of laughs and some important life lessons. The show runs under an hour and promises to be excellent exposure to theater for young audience members. Halloween ShiverWalk Join your costumed tour guide on a spooky lantern lit haunted walk while hunting for ghosts along the way. Hear tales of why the ghosts love this old town so much they will never leave. Free raffle, giveaways, candy, prize for best costume. Ghost hunting equipment included in price. 13+ only. Houston Bonsai Society Fall Show Join us for the 2019 Houston Bonsai Society Fall show this October 19th & 20th in the Dillardâ€™s wing! There will be a judged exhibition, demos, workshops, talks and vendors. Come see some beautiful bonsai, learn how to make your own, and bring it home with you! This event is free and open to the public. The Houston Bonsai Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to educating and supporting area bonsai grower artists while promoting and preserving the ancient art of bonsai. The word BONSAI (bone-sigh) means â€œplant in a pot,â€ an ancient living art form that began thousands of years ago in Asia.
Pumpkins and Pilsners at The Square Bring the family to find the perfect pumpkin while celebrating fall at Pumpkins and Pilsners at The Square on Saturday, October 19 from 11am-2pm, benefitting the Epilepsy Foundation of Texas We will have a pumpkin patch and decoration station, live entertainment, arts & crafts and a pumpkin dress up competition There will also be food, beer and wine for the adults. Pumpkin Patch at NDC Our Pumpkin Patch fall festival will return to Russ Pitman Park Saturday & Sunday, October 19 & 20, 2019 from 11 am to 4 pm both days rain or shine! Come pick out pumpkins, play festival games, ride the horse drawn wagons, and more at one of Houstonâ€™s most treasured events! Donâ€™t miss the food trucks, bounce house, obstacle course, and everyoneâ€™s favorite, Sno Balls! East End Street Fest 2019 Join us during our 8th annual festival on Saturday, October 19, 2019, for a day-to-evening street party with two stages packed with live music and cultural performances. This FREE annual festival, which drew over 13,000 registered attendees last year, celebrates the vibrant community in historic East End Houston. Throughout the day and in the three-block area of the Navigation Esplanade, festival goers will experience an array of artisan and craft vendors as well as a Cultural Food Kitchen representing the plethora of cuisines available in the East End.
