What is Houston Restaurant Weeks? "Houston Restaurant Weeks is the largest annual fundraiser for America's largest food bank, the Houston Food Bank. The now month-long charity dining extravaganza features specially priced lunches, brunches and dinners at restaurants from The Woodlands to Galveston, Texas. Participating restaurants make donations based upon how many brunches, lunches and dinners they sell during the event, diners are not solicited for donations. The event includes restaurants located in Harris, Galveston and Montgomery counties." - HRW When is It? Join park staff and volunteers each second Saturday for a glimpse into pioneer life. Each month, Second Saturday Settlers, highlight a different aspect of life in a time gone by. Note: Many programs are still happening but after the Precinct 3 & 4 rezoning they are a bit hard to find. Precinct Facebook pages often have the most up to date information.
On the second Saturday of every month from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the Ocean Star celebrates Family Day. Each Family Day focuses on a different theme that relates to the oil and gas industry. The information is presented at a studentâ€™s level using activities or experiments. We encourage parents to bring their children aboard and experience family-learning and quality time at a reduced cost. Children 18 years of age and younger are admitted freeÂ with a paying chaperone.Â Please note: This special discount is designed for individual ticket sales and not meant to be combined with guided group tours or other museum programs. Each overnight is tailored to the individual ages of the Scouts. The activities are badge-inspired, STEM-based and all about space! From the organizer: Note that boat tours depart promptly each half-hour. The last tour departs at 8 pm. These 30-minute boat rides are a great way to spend the evening with your family. Escape from the city and enjoy the cool breeze as you glide along Buffalo Bayou's waters. Look for graceful herons, jumping fish, and even an occasional alligator on the banks. Weather permitting. Reservations Required. *Ages 4 and under not permitted on the pontoon boat.
