From the organizer: On the third Saturday of each month, March through November and Select Sundays, the members of Houston Area Live Steamers offer FREE rides to the public on our track. All ages are welcome to ride. No reservations needed, Just get in line and ride. The rides are about one mile in length and last 12-15 minutes. We have several club diesel engines that normally run the passenger trains, as well as private engines belonging to club members, but many times you will find a steam engine also running. Wings & Wheels is the 1940 Air Terminal Museum's quarterly open house, featuring static displays of airplanes and automobiles. It is held on the 3rd Saturday of event months, rain or shine. Other third Saturdays they host Open Ramp Days. Each Wings and Wheels event has a different family-friendly theme. Join by car or air. These interactive workshops and performances last between 60 and 90 minutes and involve YAH artists and ensembles, crossing genres of dance, visual arts, theater, music, and literary arts.

You and your family will build your boat, fill out your ship manifest, learn about life on the Mayflower, play games that sailors played, and more! We welcome all ages! From the organizer: Emancipation Park 150th Juneteenth Celebration The event commemorates Emancipation Park’s sesquicentennial anniversary and the June 19, 1865, abolition of slavery in Texas. The park, which is the oldest public park in Houston, was founded in 1872 by a group of community leaders led by four local freedmen and the community as a place for unity, empowerment, remembrance and the celebration of emancipation and Juneteenth. This event honors their memory and marks Emancipation Park’s 150 years of service to the community.
