Allen's Landing 1001 Commerce St., HoustonFrom the organizer: The Port to Port History Tour is a cruise east of downtown on Buffalo Bayou from Allen’s Landing to the Port of Houston Turning Basin. In 1914 with the opening of the Houston Ship Channel and the modern Port of Houston, the section of Buffalo Bayou from the port’s turning basin to the foot of Main Street (now known as Allen’s Landing) was called the upper channel. Very few Houstonians today get to experience the upper channel by boat which has a very different environment from that of the bayou west of downtown. Each Family Day focuses on a different theme that relates to the oil and gas industry. The information is presented at a student’s level using activities or experiments. We encourage parents to bring their children aboard and experience family-learning and quality time at a reduced cost. Children 18 years of age and younger are admitted free with a paying chaperone. Please note: This special discount is designed for individual ticket sales and not meant to be combined with guided group tours or other museum programs. Buffalo Bayou Twilight Boat Tours

These 30-minute boat rides are a great way to spend the evening with your family. Escape from the city and enjoy the cool breeze as you glide along Buffalo Bayou's waters. Look for graceful herons, jumping fish, and even an occasional alligator on the banks. Weather permitting. Reservations Required. *Ages 4 and under not permitted on the pontoon boat.
