The Houston Museum of Natural Science comes to Levy Park to offer an opportunity to learn firsthand from Museum experts. Encounter real specimens and artifacts from the museum collection in an intimate, educational atmosphere.

June 22nd: All About Butterflies-This fun, interactive presentation introduces the remarkable cycle of metamorphosis and shows how butterflies differ from moths and from other winged insects, through engaging demonstrations using student volunteers. Get up-close and personal with the butterfly, including live specimens in various stages of the butterfly’s life cycle, and experience its incredible transformation!

July 27th: Astronomy– Investigate our place in space and ways we study this exciting place full of planets, moons, stars, and galaxies.

August 24th: Amazing Arthropods Desert- Scorching heat during the day, freezing temperatures at night, and often water is nowhere to be found. Arthropods must have pretty amazing adaptations to survive in this extreme habitat! Meet some incredible insects and learn how they thrive in the desert.

September 28th: Renewable is Doable- Discover how alternative forms of energy are generated, stored, and used as well as the advantages and disadvantages of each.
