Sheldon Lake State Park & Environmental Learning Center is a birding hotspot with nearly 300 species that can be found within its boundaries. Open Ramp Day at the Museum Wings & Wheels is the 1940 Air Terminal Museum's quarterly open house, featuring static displays of airplanes and automobiles. It is held on the 3rd Saturday of every month, rain or shine. In the off months, Open Ramp Days will have fun and interesting programming opportunities such as educational workshops, festivals, movie nights, and events centered around their 80th birthday celebration. Hands on History! at the Museum of the American G.I. During the "Hands on History" days, we will have interactive fun and educational activities for children all day from 10 am to 5 pm. Kids will get the chance to take photos in a vehicle and play fun games — all while learning a great deal about U.S. military history. Our "Hands on History" events are great for the whole family! Most notably, the excitement and risk of living through the Doolittle Raid on Tokyo, one of the most dangerous and effective missions of WWII.
