First Saturday Bolivar Flats Nature Walk Come explore Bolivar Flats Shorebird Sanctuary and see what the forces of nature have left for us on the beach and in the wrack lines with Sanctuaries Manager Pete Deichmann. You’ll walk along the beach and out onto the flats discovering the diversity of life along the gulf coast. It's a perfect opportunity for a family day trip. Ride the Galveston ferry, see dolphins, birds, shellfish and learn about coastal ecosystems. This program is FREE, suitable for all ages and runs on the first Saturday of each month. Bay Explorations at GISP Become a Galveston Bay warrior and uncover life on and in the bay waters. Come join one of our weekly explorations of the connections between the mainland and our island paradise - Galveston Bay. Sandy beach access to the calm waters of this seafood nursery abound with life! Meet our naturalist guides at the newly renovated Nature Center at 10:00 am for a brief orientation before heading to the water's edge. We'll explore for about 75 minutes. Yoga @ Levy Park Bayou Bliss Yoga presents a low-impact physical and spiritual fitness program which includes breath control, simple meditation, and bodily postures focused on improving physical flexibility, strength, and mental relaxation.
