Sandy beach access to the calm waters of this seafood nursery abound with life! Meet our naturalist guides at the newly renovated Nature Center at 10:00 am for a brief orientation before heading to the water's edge. We'll explore for about 75 minutes. Ocean Star Offshore Drilling Rig & Museum Family Day On the second Saturday of every month from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the Ocean Star celebrates Family Day. Each Family Day focuses on a different theme that relates to the oil and gas industry. The information is presented at a student’s level using activities or experiments. We encourage parents to bring their children aboard and experience family-learning and quality time at a reduced cost. Children 18 years of age and younger are admitted free with a paying chaperone. Yoga @ Levy Park Bayou Bliss Yoga presents a low-impact physical and spiritual fitness program which includes breath control, simple meditation, and bodily postures focused on improving physical flexibility, strength, and mental relaxation. This hour-long program is open to Yogis of all levels. Yoga mats and yoga blocks are provided by Levy Park for your convenience.
Second Saturday Settlers at Jesse H. Jones Park Each second Saturday has a historical focus. June is about Woodworking. Visit Redbud Hill Homestead and watch woodworkers use the froe, draw knife, lathe, and other tools to transform raw materials into useful items. Join staff and volunteers as they demonstrate the daily chores of early Texas settler life. In July you can learn about Pioneer Tools. Come watch as staff and volunteers demonstrate the use of many tools in the trades and crafts of early Texas settlers at Redbud Hill Homestead. August is all about homestead fun. Observational Movement Drawing | Drop-In Experience @ CAMH Reflect on the body as a tool for drawing. Use motion to explore pattern, rhythm, and shape. Solo or with a partner, create drawings on paper, or dance in the space. About a Drop-In Experience CAMH’s Drop-In Experience feature guided in-gallery discussions and pop-up activities that provide creative opportunities to experience the exhibitions on view in a unique and meaningful way.
