Summer Nature Series: ‘Tall Tails: Urban Wildlife Myth Busters’ Join Outreach Coordinator Anni Ranck as she dispels many of the myths and old wives tales concerning local urban wildlife. Participants will gain insight into how information gets distorted, how to solve common wildlife problems, and that truth really is stranger than fiction.
Open Garden Day with the Harris Co. Master Gardeners July's Open Garden Day will be an "open house" format with supplies and Master Gardener volunteers available from 10:00 to 11:30. You may participate anytime during this period. Activities: 1. Craft projects will include an opportunity to learn about butterflies and lady beetles while making a 3-dimensional butterfly and a lady beetle stick fan. 2. The children will have a chance to be creative by using pipe stems, wiggly eyes, pom poms, felt, cardstock and popsicle sticks to design and make animals, plants or other objects. 3. As always, we will have a hands-in-the-dirt planting project.
Yoga @ Levy Park Bayou Bliss Yoga presents a low-impact physical and spiritual fitness program which includes breath control, simple meditation, and bodily postures focused on improving physical flexibility, strength, and mental relaxation. This hour-long program is open to Yogis of all levels. Yoga mats and yoga blocks are provided by Levy Park for your convenience.
