SCAVENGER HUNT

Sat., Sept. 1, 10 a.m.

Young nature lovers and scout groups are invited to this discovery outing. Ages 5-15. Reservations required beginning Wed., Aug. 22.

EMBROIDERY 101

Sat., Sept. 8, 10 a.m.

Learn the tools, stiches, patterns and techniques 18th -19th century women used to decorate fabric. Bring an embroidery hoop; materials provided. Reservations required beginning Wed., Aug. 29. Ages 8+.

SECOND SATURDAY SETTLERS: CLAYWORKS

Sat., Sept. 8, 1–3 p.m.

Learn how early Texas settlers built clay ovens during this hands-on demonstration by volunteers and
staff in the Redbud Hill Homestead.

VOLUNTEER MEET & GREET

Sat., Sept. 15, 9–11 a.m. 

Volunteers help lead guided tours, assist with special events and projects, and so much more. Meet staff and learn about rewarding volunteer opportunities at the park. Ages 16+.

FALL NATURE WALK

Sat., Sept. 15, 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Join Horticultural Coordinator Matt Abernathy for a guided hike to learn about the park’s plants and animals. Hike will last up to 90 minutes. Reservations required beginning Wed., Sept. 5.

SCOUT DAY WORKSHOP

Sat., Sept. 22, 9 a.m.–3:30 p.m.

This workshop covers many requirements for Boy Scout and Girl Scout badges focusing on wildlife and conservation. Webelos, Boy Scouts, Brownies, & Jr. Girl Scouts welcome. Ages 9+. Reservations required beginning Wed., Sept. 12.

PONTOON BOAT TOURS

Sat., Sept. 29, tours throughout the day

Enjoy a leisurely tour along Spring Creek and a unique view of the area from the water. Learn about local history, plants, and wildlife. Ages 8+. Reservations required beginning Wed., Sept.19.
