TREE PLANTING PARTY

Sat., Nov. 3, 9 a.m.–noon

Help with reforestation in the park during a weekend of tree planting. Bring your own tools. Trees are provided. Ages 8+. Reservations required by Mon., Oct. 29.

STARGAZING

Sat., Nov. 3, 6:30 p.m.

Spend an evening learning about the planets and stars with the North Houston Astronomy Club. Participants are encouraged to bring telescopes or binoculars. Reservations required beginning Wed., Oct..24.

PIONEER DAY

Sat., Nov. 10, 10 a.m.–4 p.m.

Learn about Texas settlers and American Indian lifestyles in the 1830s. View living history demonstrations, including blacksmithing, cooking, spinning, woodworking and much more. Enjoy folk music and hayrides during this free, fun-filled family event!

TAKE ME FISHING

Sat., Nov. 17, 8:30 a.m.–2 p.m.

Through a partnership with Fishing’s Future and TPWD, the Jones Park volunteers would love to teach your family the joys of fishing. All equipment is provided. Please bring a sack lunch. Ages 8+. Online registration required at www.fishingsfuture.org.
