ARCHERY IN THE PARK
Tuesday, July 3 from 9 a.m. to noon
Join a Level 3 USA archery coach for an evening of family fun using Precinct 4’s mobile
archery range. Ages 7+.

SUMMER POP-UP ACTIVITIES
Tuesdays, July 3, 10, 24, & 31 and Saturday, July 28 at 10 a.m. 
Join a staff naturalist for a hands-on nature activity or lesson.

NATURE CENTER WITHOUT WALLS
Saturday, July 7 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
A naturalist leads this ongoing program to provide updates on the preserve, local wildlife,
and nature.

CANOEING AND FISHING
Wednesdays, July 11 & 25 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday, July 21 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
For canoeing and fishing, meet Precinct 4’s Trails As Parks staff at the canoe launch. Wear
weather-appropriate attire, including closed toed shoes, a hat, and sunscreen. Ages 13+ for canoeing.

PROJECT WILD EDUCATOR WORKSHOP
Saturday, July 14 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
A workshop geared to formal and non-formal educators. Register HERE

VOLUNTEER DAY
Sunday, July 15 from 9 a.m. to noon
Meet staff at the park kiosk to remove invasive plant species during this volunteer workday.
Hand tools and gloves are recommended, but some will be provided. Ages 10+.

THIRD MONDAY BIRD COUNT AT KMP
Monday, July 16 from 7:30 a.m. to noon
Join the Houston Audubon Society for this monthly bird count. Previous counts have
identified more than 35 species at KickerilloMischer Preserve.

JR. RANGER CAMP – SUMMER DAY CAMP
Monday-Friday, July 16-19, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and July 20 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Wildlife Day, Environmental Awareness Day, Fish Day, Jr. Canoe Training, and Friday is an off-site field trip to Sea Center Texas (transportation provided).

Ages 10-13 can earn a Jr. Ranger badge and certificate.

Join this volunteer-led Tai Chi class at the far end of the back parking lot, opposite the

2nd Annual Smitty’s Day at the Park @ Moody Park

The 2nd Annual Smitty’s Day at the Park presented by the Wade Smith Foundation will team up Retired NFL Pro Bowl Offensive Lineman Wade Smith, NFL Legends, high school/collegiate student-athletes, professional cheerleaders, authors, musicians, and artists to host this one of a kind event.

This FREE camp, located at Moody Park in Houston, Texas will serve students grades K-6 and includes, elite hands-on instruction from NFL players, veterans, college athletes, and coaches. Participants in the cheer camp will learn and perform a choreographed cheer and dance routine taught by professional cheerleaders.

Following the camp, participants and families alike are invited to enjoy games, snacks, and activities aimed to promote health and fitness.

Camp participants are required to read one age-appropriate book, answer a few questions about the story in order to participate. Campers are encouraged to bring one book to donate in order to take part in the camp. Our goal is to collect a total of 3 THOUSAND Books during this camp! These new or lightly used books collected will be subsequently be donated to children that lack access to books in order to read, explore, and expand their horizons.

Grades: Kindergarten – 6th Grade ONLY **Ages 5-12**

Date and Times: Saturday, August 11th, 2018 from 8 AM to 2PM **Registration begins at 8 AM**
